Learning About the Root Sources of Frustration In Business
The Art of Rewriting is the second introductory experience offered by Mental Arts. In this component, a participant works one-on-one with a facilitator to identify a belief-in-real put in place before the age of three and a half. For example, the belief that, “Mom and Dad are safe,” is not something to re-write. However, the belief that, “People should do as I say,” is an example of a belief-in-real that a person would benefit from re-writing.
This process happens via email with a facilitator. The first part involves sorting through early memories from the first three years of life. The process of sorting through memories is often surprising to people as they are encouraged to consider their memories from different points of view. If, for example, the participant blames their parents for what they believe to be real, or they are being dishonest, the facilitator will point it out and the participant will likely experience strong discomfort. This is normal because it means the participant is beginning to address a disadvantageous belief-in-real. It is similar to when a massage therapist identifies a knot in a person’s back. Identifying it and then working through it alleviates the tension and allows energy to flow through the body. The back-and-forth communication in the Art of Rewriting slowly frees up the “knots” in a participant’s mind, which the participant can use to re-write a belief-in-real.
The process happens through email because it gives a participant time to reconsider their thoughts and reactions, and to process communication with the facilitator. After a person identifies a belief-in-real, they re-write it by following the same eleven-step Goal/Means process they experienced in the introductory seminar. However, this component is much more rigorous because the participant is re-writing a belief-in-real formed early in life. The amount of time needed to complete The Art of Rewriting depends on the participant’s frequency of communication and commitment. At a minimum, the process takes several weeks.

What People are Saying
This is the real deal. Starting with a significant childhood memory from under the age of four, you will run through eleven different levels of your own functioning bio-computer (that is your mind) assessing and making deliberate changes to enhance the efficiency and functioning of your deepest beliefs, emotions, feelings all the way to the logic we think we consciously wield. Not for the unprepared; you will develop skills to use for the rest of your life if you put the work in. – Paul G.
